What exactly is salvation? We would like to take just a minute to discuss the most important subject you can possibly ponder. So if you only read one thing on this website please let this be it. Do you ever think about the fact that someday you will be part of the ultimate statistic? Ten out of ten people die. Everyday 150,000 people slip into the grip of death. The Bible is clear that it is appointed for a man to die once and then comes Judgment (Heb. 9:27 ).

On that Day of Judgment will you be good enough to enter Heaven? Before you answer that you must first look into the mirror of the Ten Commandments and judge yourself by God’s standard. Have you lied (even once), stolen (the value is irrelevant), committed adultery (Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her in his heart” – Matt. 5:28 ), or murdered (God considers hatred to be murder – 1 John 3:15 )? Have you always loved God above all else? Be honest. Listen to your conscience. All liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire (Rev. 21:8 ). God says He will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain (Ex. 20:7). No adulterer or thief will enter the Kingdom of Heaven (1 Cor. 6:9 , 10).

So when you stand before God will He find you innocent or guilty? Keep in mind that God is holy, righteous, good, and just. A good judge could not overlook your sins. He must make sure justice is served. The Bible says that if you break even one of God’s laws you are guilty of all (James 2:10 ).  You can’t perform enough good deeds to “outweigh” the bad. Will He send you to Heaven or Hell?

If what you are reading concerns you I have some great news. God doesn’t want you to go to Hell. In fact God demonstrates His love toward us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8 ). It’s like this, you broke the law and Jesus paid your fine. Christ suffered and died on the cross to take our punishment and then He rose from the dead.

Today, present yourself humble and broken at the foot of the blood stained cross. Repent(confess and turn from your sins) and put your faith in Jesus Christ. Believe in Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Trust in Him as your Lord and Savior like you would trust a parachute. You wouldn't just believe in a parachute, you would put it on. The Bible says to put on the Lord Jesus Christ.

So now that you have heard the truth you have a decision to make. Don't put it off any longer. No one is guaranteed another tomorrow. So what will you decide today? Accept this most gracious offer of grace from God or reject it? If you reject it just remember, eternity is a long time to regret a decision. And if you accept it then you must realize that the Christian life isn't always easy. Sometimes it is hard but God is always there to help you endure. Make sure you don't come to Jesus to avoid Hell. Come to Him because God is so good to save you from Hell and Jesus is worthy of your complete surrender. Always remember that you are purchased by the very blood of Christ who suffered and died for the payment of our sins.
